Just so you know, I try my best not to buy things from China. Or underpaid/badly treated workers. My clothes come from Howies, my drinks from Innocent Drinks, food is local/british as far as is possible, and as for stuff like energy, it will be fully green when I get the chance to decide for myself.

hey sounds good dude im from the uk well all over born in germany american parents d grew up in malaysia so i think of myself as having experienced quite a lot of culture.
China and human rights sure they have done a lot of bad shit but then again we quite happily buy their cheap stuff. In the end of the day there isn't gonna be any change in this world we went too far and people dont matter anymore, as much as we want to believe that all the little changes will lead to something big, it wont.. the times of freeing slaves is over, the times of democracy are over,.. yes i sound like a pessimist and you can call me one but the i think im more of a cynic....
looking at what happens now, global warming - no one cares not the people that can make a difference cares, genocide - no one cares, paradise is just a click on the remote control away, china- yeah that is trendy everyone has a go at them for the human rights blah blah no one cared till they got the olympics, the amount of people protesting now - compared to 5 6 10 years ago - has multiplied just because of the media and the tibet thing,- which i think is wrong big time because the media got the facts wrong big ass time...

so my take home message - money talks bullshit walks - we should just enjoy the ride now, because every society is doomed to collapse into itself once it reached the level where it cant sustain its own growth anymore and once this happens, the poor people in africa asia southamerica will survive because they are already self sustaining

Don't get me wrong I realise that things here in the UK are very bad (I'm sure there are lots of things over the pond where you are that are really bad) but, some of the things the China have done are much worse.

But I do believe that we need to get our own countries sorted the fock out before we go into world police mode.

As for the genocides and such in africa, I am constantly bewildered, angered and disappointed as to the fact that the "co-alition" steps into the "problems" in the iddle east but doesn't give a fuck about the problems in africa and such. I mean, I'm fucked as to why the British government chooses to go and switch to nuclear power instead of going green like Sweden.

But y'know you gotta push for change. And I will do all I can to help my country follow the best path it can.

sweet another one.... I think it is great to make political points using art, i completely support this and i think art is a great form to communicate. BUT at the moment everyone is one about tibet and how bad china is... because it is a trend, it is tredny to shout free tibet and it is handy for many countries especially the US to distract the people from their own shit. I cant handle people in DA gtalking bout how great their country is and how bad the other one is....it not gonna change anything and telling people off which are living thousands of miles away and you will never see is so useless that i think it is already funny. Especially chinese patriots and the power of internet translators are making my day on DAILY bases haha.
So....i just want to say that i dont think china is a very nicely run government but then the US is even worse - since they actually have the money to help and they did fuck all for the people after hurrican katrina, taking away human rights with the patriot act and also having the death penalty so before blaming another country for what it is doing look at your on.

China is trying quite hard to change and with the pressure from the world they will but stuff like that needs time and people on DA dont understand that. Asian people for a start have a completely different lifestyle there.....

and to finish off my work of revision procrastination - there is greater shit happening in the world than china , there are genocides in africa drug wars in south america. Since these do not invovle a superpower which could become a threat to europe and US we dont give a shit....

(the tibet stuff was only one of many of the human rights abuses commited that has marred people's view of china/the olympics.

i.e. How many people have died during the construction of the stadiums. Also, how many people had their homes bulldozed to make way for the stadiums and were not rehoused.)

hey man must suck to be chinese now since the whole world got some wrong pictures about tibet, it must also suck to be chinese because everyone hates the olympics now because everyone things the chinese government kills loads of tibet people. It must also suck to be from tibet and wanting to be independent and it must suck to be from tibet and not wanting to be independent. But i hope that the chinese government and so many other governments in the world get their act together and get proper democracy and love peace and equality everywhere.
But see my only problem is, and i do apologize that you were one of them, that so many chinese people join deviant art now just to post stuff about how great china is and how tibet is their and how great the chinese government is. And im sorry for overreacting but since I have posted to free tibet pictures which were documentary pictures and not my personal opinion i get these messages all the time. And i cant see why people join an art forum to give me their so ignorant and patriotic views on their country rather than commenting on the art.

wish you all the best and i hope that the world/china get things sorted soon and that people who actually care bout the olympics dont boycott them just becaue of the tibet incidence.
